This Privacy Policy describes how NorthEliq ("we", "us", "the journal") handles personal information collected through our website, our subscription and contact forms, and the print and digital subscriptions we operate.

1. Data we collect

Provided directly

Collected automatically

2. How we use it

3. Legal basis

Where GDPR applies we process personal data on the basis of (a) the performance of a subscription contract, (b) your consent for marketing communications, and (c) our legitimate interests in operating, securing and improving the journal.

4. Sharing

We do not sell personal data. We share it only with vetted service providers (hosting, email delivery, print fulfilment, analytics, payment processing) under contractual safeguards limiting their use of the data to instructed purposes. We may also disclose information where strictly required by law.

5. International transfers

Where data is transferred outside its country of origin, we rely on appropriate legal mechanisms such as Standard Contractual Clauses.

6. Retention

We retain subscriber data for as long as you remain subscribed. After unsubscribe, we keep a minimal suppression record so we don't accidentally mail you again. Subscription and inquiry records are retained for the period required by accounting and editorial standards.

7. Your rights

Subject to local law, you may request access, correction, deletion, portability or restriction of your personal data, object to processing, or lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. To exercise these rights, write to privacy@northeliq.com.

8. Unsubscribe

Every marketing email we send carries a one-click unsubscribe link. You can also unsubscribe at any time via our unsubscribe page. Opt-out requests are honoured within 48 hours, in line with CAN-SPAM, CASL and GDPR.

9. Security

We protect personal data with encryption in transit, restricted access, modern authentication and routine security reviews. No system is perfectly secure; we will notify affected users and authorities of any qualifying incident within the time frames required by law.

10. Cookies

Our website uses a minimal set of essential and analytics cookies. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

11. Changes

We may revise this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated to subscribers in advance.
